Great Minds in STEM – HENAAC Scholars Program
STEM Scholarships: Application Deadline April 30, 2012
Basic Scholarship Requirements:
- Applicants must demonstrate leadership through academic achievements
and campus/community activities - Applicants must be Science, Technology, Engineering or Math related majors
- Applicants must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher
- Recipients must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program for the
Fall 2012 semester
- Applicants must be of Hispanic origin and/or must significantly participate in and promote organizations and activities in the Hispanic community
Each Scholarship Recipient Will Receive:
- A scholarship ranging in amounts from $500 to $5,000
- Listing and photo in the HENAAC Conference issue of TECHNiCA Magazine
- Press Release on Great Minds in STEM website: www.GreatMindsinSTEM.org
- Complimentary registration and hotel accommodations to the HENAAC 2010 Career
Conference and Awards Show.
- Qualifying students may also receive transportation support.
- Recipients will be awarded at the HENAAC Conference at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida on October 11-13, 2010. Recipients MUST attend the conference to receive the scholarship.

Scholarships – For CSULA Students
The range for CSULA scholarships is from $100 to $5,000, with the average award being around
$700. Students may receive more than one scholarship, but not all qualified students will receive
awards due to insufficient funds. Only about 35-40% of qualified applicants can be awarded.
Scholarships are divided by colleges. Below are the scholarships currently available through the
College of Engineering and Computer Science at CSULA.

National Society of High School Scholars Foundation
NSHSS Foundation STEM scholarships are created to help reduce financial barriers for high school seniors interested in entering college to pursue STEM majors--Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The scholarships are for entering college freshmen who belong to underrepresented groups in STEM careers. The scholarships are to be used for the student's first year of college
Applications for US Students Open in January and usually have a March DeadlineEligibility: Applicants must be high school seniors attending public high schools who are among underrepresented groups with a minimum GPA of 3.5 or the equivalent. In addition to the application, requirements include teacher recommendation, transcript, personal statement, and photograph.
